I’ve tried 3 different brands of guitar capo in the last month. The first one I tried was a ‘no-name’ quick change capo from China, it worked fine on 5 strings, but it was so poorly manufactured that it couldn’t hold down the high E. The second one I tried was an Alice quick release capo, which was much better than the no-name capo, but it was just so ugly that I couldn’t live with it! The third and final capo I tried was a Dunlop trigger capo. I’ve used it on my Telecaster, Takamine acoustic and a friends acoustic 12 string, and it works perfectly on all of them – plus the trigger design actually works. My friend has an old Shubb capo, and also a new Kyser capo – and he offered to swap them both for my new Dunlop trigger capo – any capo that can firmly hold down all 12 strings on my friends beaten up 12 string has gotta be good. I’m keeping it!
