I’ve spent the last month putting together a bug out bag to keep in my car. One of the most important pieces of kit that I wanted in my bag was a good, yet compact camp stove. I did a lot of research, and spoke to several friends of mine that are SERIOUS hikers – and I eventually settled on a Trangia Mini. The design is incredibly simple, and the built quality is brilliant. It rapidly boils enough water to heat a dehydrated meal, using barely any fuel (the Trangia uses methylated spirits), and can be packed away in a matter of minutes. One of the best features of the Trangia Mini is that everything is included – the burner, a simmer ring, the wind shield, multi-purpose pot handles, a small saucepan, and a lid that doubles as a frying pan.
